Most software can be purchased over the Internet these days. Some some can even be downloaded for free. Much free software can be found at: www.tucows.com
Freeware
- Can be downloaded for free but usually is only offered for non-commercial use
or has other conditions.
Demo - Usually free to download - usually
not fully operational and/or only works for a short period of time.
Beta
- Guinea Pig software not usually fully developed. Released early as a test
(not fully functional or defective).
Adware - Can be downloaded for
free but adds pop up when you use it (often when you are not using it too).
Shareware - Fully operation software that will operate for a short period
time. Commonly distributed by many manufacturers so their customers can trial
software before they purchase it.

Install Software at your own risk. When downloading software from the Internet, it often a good idea to test software on a old / unused computer.
